Garima Bhatia is a chemical engineer by training and birdwatcher by passion. At some point the passion overtook the training, and after spending ten years in automotive research, she decided she had enough of the corporate rat race and joined an NGO called Nature Conservation Foundation, where she has worked since 2014. She is also a bird photographer (but not a trophy hunter), occasional writer (of a mostly defunct blog and assorted articles on environment and sustainability), and volunteers for various social and environmental causes in the community where she lives. She is a co-author of two popular photographic field guides to the Indian subcontinent. When not out traveling and birding, she watches birds from her balcony, experiments with vegan recipes and lectures unsuspecting strangers on waste management.
